Inflatable Island

If you would think of an Island in Subic, surely the first thing that will come in your mind is the Inflatable Island. With its colorful ambiance and exciting activities, who would resist to visit this biggest floating playground in the Philippines.

It’s actually not my first-time visiting Inflatable Island so I would say that each year or maybe every six months, they have this new gimmick or clever plan to attract more tourists to experience their eye-catching inflatables and the beach life.

HOW TO GO TO INFLATABLE ISLAND?

I have listed two ways on how we can travel to this amazing Island

1. By Private Car – From Manila to Olongapo City

  • Travel Time: 3 Hours via SCTEX

2. By Public Transportation – From Manila to Olongapo City

  • Travel Time: 3 – 4 Hours
  • Direction:
    • Take the Victory Liner Bus at Cubao, Quezon City, then inform the Bus Teller that you will go to Olongapo City (fare: PHP 220 per person)
    • Stop at the Victory Liner Olongapo Station and from there take a Tricycle (fare: PHP 100 -150) going to Inflatable Island.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

It was during Covid19 when I went in Inflatable Island and some might be asking, “what are the  requirements needed to go there?”

For people coming from Manila (changes may apply), I am glad to inform you that you don’t need a travel pass or medical certificate. You may travel with your family like what we use to. We just need to wear a mask and observe social distancing.

For people coming from GCQ and MGCQ provinces, the same policy applies. You may enjoy the Inflatable Island without seeking any travel pass or medical certificate.

On the other hand, for people coming from other provinces with strict policies and guidelines to avoid the spread of Covid19, best to check out the requirements of your local unit. If you need further details in getting a travel pass, click here.

Lastly, for foreign travelers, know that you have to follow the WHO and Department of Health requirements before going to any part of the Philippines. First, you have to check if you are allowed to travel. Second, when you are eligible to proceed, you may need to undergo the SWAB Test and self-quarantine for 14 Days. And after having the dreary isolation, you may now visit the beautiful Inflatable Island.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN INFLATABLE ISLAND?

If you never try playing on a huge slide with a unicorn on the side, then I would insist for you to experience this adorable Inflatable Island.

You will enjoy inflatable towers, slides and exciting bridges at the beach. Once you are there, you might feel like taking an exciting obstacles or games while floating on the water.

You might as well have this cool vibe experience perching on their beach lounge while drinking soda. I personally like the setup of their beach side area as it is so colorful, cute and picturesque.

It’s a perfect spot to capture great photos, to have a me time, relax and enjoy the beach.

During the time that I visited this place, they have this classy and bright-colored umbrella. It’s so delightful to sit on one of their bouncy chairs. I feel like I’m in candy land haha.

When you also check out the other side, you could sleep so easily with the yellow bed, the sun kiss and the violet trees.

“A surreal mix of fact and fantasy”, could be the right word I suppose to express how you would feel when you go to Inflatable Island.

Well, first in foremost it’s not perfect but it’s a cool place to spend time with your family and friends.

OTHER THINGS TO DO IN INFLATABLE ISLAND

Exploring more, when you walk on the left side of the Inflatable Island facing north (I’m not sure if this direction would help haha), you would see other famous beach resorts like the Ocean View and Samba.

Honestly speaking, you would experience great mountain view and soft sand beach even if you choose other beach resort. As all the different resorts alongside of Inflatable Island are connected by the beach and can be accessed by just walking or swimming.

Fun activities to do in this island are the following:

  • Dragon/ Banana Boat
  • Kayaking
  • Boat Ride
  • Jet Skiing
  • Snorkeling
  • Volleyball and Badminton
  • Party at Night
  • And Picnic

For summer season which happens from March to May, I’m pretty sure a lot of people are coming to this place. But if you wanted to be in here where there are not so many tourists, I would say that 4th week of November to February would also be a gorgeous time to enjoy this island.

From what I’ve experienced, it would be fun to bring you own food and have a picnic on the beach side. There are vendors selling “Barilyete” or Skipjack Tuna on the island, so if you haven’t tasted this fish, I would highly recommend for you to try it, honestly, it’s one of my favorites.

I hope you would enjoy visiting this beautiful island in Olongapo City. Wait, Olongapo? Yes, for everyone’s knowledge Inflatable Island is actually located in Olongapo not in Subic. Well, the two municipalities are just near to each other so many are sometimes confused, me too at first. Anyway, let’s enjoy travelling and see you on my next adventure!
