WHAT TO EXPECT AT ANGELES WATERFALLS ZAMBALES?
Many would probably ask, what new things we can experience at Angeles Waterfalls? To answer simply, I would say “a lot”.
I have been in different mountains, but Angeles Waterfalls is my first hike where I experienced a steep slope and a mixture of water rock climbing. This is not an easy pie; I am telling you.
The climb going to the 1st level of waterfalls would require 2 hours of your time. We advise that you carry more patience and energy with you, as you will experience a long rough road and a dense forest.
It’s also nice to know that there are 3 levels of waterfalls that you can see at the Angeles Mountain. To start, let us talk about the first level.
FIRST LEVEL
As we begin to make a trip on the waterfalls, we are surprised to welcome by the scenic and striking view of the Angeles Mountains which we feel like we are in Switzerland or New Zealand.
Looking at the wonderful site of San Antonio, one will be impressed, but walking towards our main goal, we must pass by a wide river, fair enough to be the first challenge we’ve encountered.
After the shoreline, there is this mossy forest that make us go up and down and move our body left and right. It’s like we’re doing stretching for 20 minutes but with the participation of the wild plants and insects that we need to quash or shake off.
For the next 30 minutes, the hike becomes more difficult as the massive and sharp stones tested our sense of sight and firm toe. It is important that we never lose our focus on this part as this area is prone to accident or injury.
For a short while we also take a break before heading off again to Angeles Waterfalls. We advise those who will hike in this place to bring the travel essentials like water, food, medical kit just in case, extra clothes and never forget to wear water shoes.
Moving on, the next 1 hour of our journey becomes more interesting and exciting. We, of course have again difficulty because this time we must cross waterlines flowing on the giant rocks. But the good side is, the views going at the top are enchanting and totally could make us feel like we are inside the painting.
After 2 hours of walking and climbing, our sweaty and tired face are paid off because of the wonderful view and the amazing waterfalls.
It’s such an incredible feeling when you are in the falls as its water is so refreshing and cold and the huge rocks surrounding it, add up to the beauty of the place and its cool nature. We really enjoy diving, swimming, eating and taking pictures on this first level of waterfalls.
SECOND LEVEL
Rock climbing is required in this level, but one don’t have to worry much as this journey would only be around 15 to 20 minutes.
When we do the climb in this area, we could tell that it’s fun and thrilling. We’re like spider man climbing but with more care and sense of humor I guess haha.
On this level, we could see the fascinating view of the first waterfalls and the area surrounding the Angeles Mountains.
The waterfalls in the second level has this crystal-clear water and it is more peaceful and swimming friendly compare to the first level.
Our tour guides informed us that kids use to like this place because they can swim like a fish and enjoy the water without worrying of being drowned.
THIRD LEVEL
The last but not the least.
Just 10 – 15 minutes away from the second level, one could reach the largest waterfalls at Angeles Mountains.
This is the part where we have to think about our strategy on how to get to the falls as there is no clear path and convenient direction.
What we encounter in this area are solid rock formations which are genuinely exorbitant and have a very sharp angle. We dare to climb this up as we don’t want to miss the opportunity of experiencing the immense vertical drop of water flows and the view at the top.
It’s risky but we are blissful to reach this extraordinary place. We are so happy that we safely witness the unique features of Angeles Waterfalls and we are so blessed for the new experiences that we had.
The Hardest Hike Point but It’s Worth the Sweat
To those travelers or hikers who want the adventure and thrill in mountain climbing, we really recommend this place at Zambales. But always consider safety first and do travelling with fun and new learnings.
See you in our next adventure!
