Should you lock down in an island or in the city, getting a Travel Pass is definitely your key to move from one city to another here in the Philippines.

I know most of us are really wanting to get off on their right foot to achieve the goal of living a life, be apart from the elbow grease of daily responsibility and routine. To break free and travel. Travel in the city or around the world, explore the great mountains and crystal-clear sea water, to have a whale of a time and enjoy life until we run out of steam.

Well, all our propositions are admissible but with today’s situation we have to think of our safety first, for other people and what’s best for the earth. While we are living in a practical reality, let’s take this opportunity to be with our family and maybe finding ourselves at home? It may sound boring, but life can be more pretty when you discover something new from within.

Moving on to our main goal, I know you are reading this blog to secure a travel pass.  Without further ado Let me help you to get it.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • An individual who needs to leave a city or province to go to another LGU for important matters, should apply for a travel pass.
Example: From Makati City to Cebu City
  • The requirements include the following:
  1. A copy of Government-issued ID
  2. Barangay Certification
  3. Medical Clearance
  • It may take 2 to 3 business days to process your request.

WHO NEEDS to SECURE a TRAVEL PASS?

  • “Locally stranded individual” who needs to go home to his/her province or in Metro Manila.
  • Individual leaving in a province/Metro Manila to attend to a family or medical emergency.
  • Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)

Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) is an employee, student, worker, or any person who got stranded in a city /province and was not able to return home, during the strict imposition of enhanced community quarantine.

WHERE and HOW can I GET a TRAVEL PASS?

  1. Go to the Barangay where your address is currently assigned. And ask the Barangay Personnel that you need to secure a travel pass.
  2. They will then provide you a Covid19 Questionnaire Form. This form is used to monitor if you happen to socialize to a person with symptoms of Covid19. You could fill this up for 5 to 10 minutes as it is only a Yes or No questions.
  3. The Barangay Medical Assistant will thereafter get your body and blood temperature.
  4. After steps 1 to 3, the Barangay Personnel will ask you to be back within the day or after 1 to 2 days.
  5. Finally, once you get the Medical Clearance and Barangay Certification from Barangay, you can now submit it along with your copy of Government-issued ID to authorized Police Station.

The Police Station will then provide you your Travel Pass or Travel Authority. As easy as eating cakes!

So, there you have it. If you have plans to travel or go out anytime soon, just keep in mind the government guidelines. Best advice, call first the Local Government Unit before you book a ticket or plan for travel so that you will have a smooth process and that you have no point crying over spilled milk.
